WSJ reported on the dispatch of a third U.S. aircraft carrier to the Middle East.
The United States is sending the USS George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier to the Middle East, which will create a grouping of three aircraft carriers simultaneously in the region. This was reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials.
According to WSJ, the aircraft carrier departed from the naval base in Norfolk, Virginia, on Tuesday and will join the already deployed strike groups USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford in the region.
The redeployment of forces is taking place against the backdrop of U.S. leader Donald Trump's consideration of further options regarding Iran, the publication notes.
