In the event of aggression from the East, the entire country of Suomi will stand firm like a rock.

The Finnish Defence Forces have updated their instructions in case of a declaration of martial law. According to the new rules, in the event of a threat of military action, a reservist may bring their own weapon to service.

As reported by Yle, drones, GPS devices, and military-grade weapons with ammunition are now included in the list of items that must be taken in case of a military threat. Previously, the list mainly included clothing, hygiene products, and camping gear.

In response to journalists' inquiries, the Finnish Defence Forces stated that they have enough weapons and ammunition for the troops, but they want to allow the option to bring personal weapons so that "all resources can be utilized" in case of an emergency.

"The acquisition of equipment by reservists is seen as a positive aspect from the perspective of the defence forces, as it can enhance the reservist's combat capability and help maintain skills," said the Finnish military.

According to statistics, excluding children under 15 who cannot obtain a license, there is an average of one unit of weaponry for every third resident in Finland. The most weapons are found in the Åland Islands and Lapland, while the least are in Helsinki.

This week, the Southeast Finland Border Guard conducted exercises at the closed border crossing points of Imatra, Nuijamaa, and Vaalimaa. During the training, special attention was paid to the procedures for returning migrants back to Russia to prevent so-called directed migration.
