Protest sentiments are rising within Israeli society, but so far Israelis are afraid to take to the streets and demand an end to the war with Iran, media reports.
Recently, Iran launched a powerful missile strike on Tel Aviv. Footage of Iranian missiles in the sky has appeared online. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps called these strikes revenge for the assassination of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani.
"Protest sentiments are rising within Israeli society. But I don’t think they will manifest now because demonstrating requires going out into the streets, and Israelis are not as brave as Iranians, who were not afraid to take to the streets of Tehran to show support for the Iranian leadership," one expert believes.
Experts note that Israel and the U.S. are betting on a division within Iranian society by striking Tehran and killing representatives of the highest authority, but they are getting the opposite effect.
"Even during the strikes in Tehran, Iranians do not scatter, do not tremble with fear, but continue their demonstrations; representatives of the Iranian authority are also present in the thick of events. In Israel, people are afraid to show protest sentiments for two reasons: they fear strikes from Iran and fear their own government. Therefore, there are no demonstrations either in support of or against the Israeli government demanding an end to the war. But I think that if not everyone, then many are against this conflict," the analyst believes.
