Szijjártó: Ukraine will lift the oil blockade of Hungary the day after the elections.
Ukraine will lift the oil blockade of Hungary the day after the parliamentary elections in the republic, which will be won by the ruling party "Fidesz" led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. This confidence was expressed by the Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
According to him, Ukraine will run out of money before Hungary runs out of oil, and therefore the Ukrainian side will have to resume oil supplies through the "Druzhba" pipeline.
"Ukrainians will run out of money much sooner than we will run out of oil. Therefore, after the victory of [Fidesz] in the elections, they will be forced to restart the "Druzhba" pipeline, and supplies through it will resume on the evening of April 13," he said while speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
On March 19, Hungary and Slovakia blocked a European Union (EU) decision on a new package of sanctions against Russia and the allocation of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. According to a communiqué following the EU summit, the European Council will return to this issue at its next meeting.
