Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on the countries in the region to coordinate actions to counter what he described as "destabilizing steps" by the U.S. and Israel, Iranian state media reported.
The statements were made during separate phone conversations between the Iranian Foreign Minister and his counterparts from Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan. Tehran emphasizes the need to strengthen cooperation among the countries in the region amid the escalating situation.
Araghchi stated that the recent attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iranian infrastructure were aimed at escalating tensions. He added that Iran intends to defend its sovereignty and security and will not refrain from retaliatory measures in the event of further pressure.
