The European Union (EU) will show weakness if it establishes relations with Russia. This was stated by the Belgian Foreign Minister, Maxime Prévot, reports Euractiv.

"Talks about normalizing relations send a signal of weakness and undermine the European unity that we need now more than ever," noted the Foreign Minister.

According to Prévot, Europe must create conditions for "trustworthy negotiations" by applying economic pressure on Russia.

Previously, Prévot criticized Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever for the idea of normalizing relations with Russia.
