All six crew members died as a result of the crash of the American refueling aircraft in Iraq. This was reported by U.S. Central Command.
"All six crew members of the American KC-135 refueling aircraft, which crashed in western Iraq, are presumed dead. The plane was lost during a flight over friendly airspace on March 12 during Operation 'Epic Fury,'" the statement said.

The KC-135 Stratotanker crashed in western Iraq, and the aircraft was lost during a flight over friendly airspace the day before.
"The circumstances of the incident are being investigated," the command stated.
"The loss of the aircraft was not caused by enemy or friendly fire," they added.
The names of the deceased service members will not be released for 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified.
