Iran Attacked Fuel Tanks at Bahrain Airport

Iranian armed forces attacked fuel tanks in Bahrain on Thursday morning, local authorities reported, according to LETA citing DPA.

The attack occurred in the Muharraq province, where the international airport of this small island nation is located.

The Ministry of Interior reported on the platform 'X' that authorities took necessary measures after the attack, but did not provide details. It is still unclear whether the affected tanks were part of the airport's aviation fuel storage or related to some other facility.

The ministry stated that air raid sirens were activated and residents were urged to seek shelter.

Iran is responding to the war initiated by the U.S. and Israel, increasingly attacking targets in Gulf countries using drones and ballistic missiles. Bahrain hosts the main U.S. Navy base in the Middle East.

The United Arab Emirates reported on Thursday morning that air defense systems were responding to a missile threat. In Dubai, a drone crashed into a residential building, causing a fire that was contained, and no injuries have been reported.

Saudi Arabia reported that it intercepted and destroyed 18 drones in the eastern part of the country on Thursday night.
