The PiS candidate is against Ukraine.
The leader of Poland's largest opposition party, Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, announced the name of the candidate for the position of Prime Minister ahead of the parliamentary elections in 2027.
The candidate for the premiership from PiS is the party's vice president, Przemysław Czarnek.
During his speech, Kaczyński stated that Poland is currently in a "dangerous situation." He also criticized the actions of the government.
"The values that shape the future prospects of the nation, such as Poland's internal security and the rule of law, are under threat," he said.
It is worth noting that Czarnek is one of the most anti-Ukrainian politicians in PiS. He made anti-Ukrainian statements during his tenure as Minister of Education and especially when he previously headed the Lublin Voivodeship.
Ahead of the 2023 parliamentary elections, Czarnek was considered a potential candidate for Prime Minister in the event of a coalition between PiS and the Confederation.
According to the latest polls, the party of the current Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk's Civic Platform, maintains leadership in the ratings, with PiS in second place.
This week, Tusk assured that the coalition is not threatened by the split within the coalition party Poland 2050.
