U.S. Admiral Cooper recognized the LUCAS drones, similar to Iranian Shaheds, as indispensable.
The LUCAS (Low-Cost Uncrewed Combat Attack System) kamikaze drones, which resemble the Iranian Shahed-136, are indispensable means of destruction. This was reported by U.S. Navy Admiral Brad Cooper, as conveyed by TWZ.
"LUCAS are indispensable devices," the admiral acknowledged in response to a publication's question about the effectiveness of the Shahed clones during operations against Iran.
In the TWZ publication, it was noted that the stocks of U.S. offensive and defensive weaponry remain a concern as the operation 'Epic Fury' continues. Washington is expending expensive missiles of various types. It is noted that a Tomahawk cruise missile costs between $2-2.5 million, while American air-launched cruise missiles are estimated at about $1 million each.
According to the author, in modern conditions, there is a need for a cheap and mass-produced long-range means of destruction. The cost of one LUCAS drone is about $35,000, which is several times cheaper than missiles.
