The operational debut demonstrates significantly greater range.

U.S. military has deployed new Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) in ongoing operations against Iran, TMZ reports.

According to the publication, this was likely the first combat use of this missile. It is noted that PrSM began to be introduced into service only about two years ago.

"The operational debut of the new missiles demonstrates significantly greater range compared to their predecessors, the Army Tactical Missile System ATACMS, and, as a result, significantly expanded strike zones that U.S. units can now threaten," the article states.

The publication noted that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) released a video montage of photos documenting "the first 24 hours of Operation Epic Fury." This is the name given by U.S. authorities to the U.S.-Israeli operation aimed at Iran.

The post mentions that in this montage, which can be seen in a social media post by CENTCOM, there is an image clearly showing the launch of a PrSM from the wheeled launcher M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

The publication reported that defense and security columnist Colby Badwar appears to be the first to notice the image of the PrSM in the CENTCOM montage. The new missile is significantly different from the ATACMS, particularly in the shape and configuration of the tail stabilizers.
