Latvian expert on the US and Israel operation.
Latvian political scientist Jurģis Liepnieks humorously shared his brief analysis of the situation on social media platform X: "Overall, at least for now, as far as can be judged from public information, the US/Israel operation is surprisingly successful. The incident at the embassy in Pakistan is very unpleasant, some missiles and drones are getting through air defense in certain areas, there is a bit of stress, of course, fear of drones in the Strait of Hormuz, but if Iran does not demonstrate some unknown capability to attack in the next 24 hours that corresponds to the curses and threats coming from there, then I think it is very successful, especially considering the immense historical significance of the event.
In my opinion, everything points to fundamental problems in command and control in Iran. There is no longer any centralized management functioning there; otherwise, it is hard to explain what they are doing. They are shooting in all directions - at Gulf countries that could be their allies, or at least neutral, and now also at British bases. What is the goal? What is the idea? What is the strategy? It seems that lower-ranking officers are acting on their own discretion."
