Russian troops attacked Ukraine last night with 420 drones and 39 missiles of various types, including 11 ballistic missiles, but most of the missiles were shot down thanks to the air defense missiles provided by partners, which were agreed upon at the last meeting in the 'Ramstein' format, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, LETA reported, citing INTERFAX-UKRAINA.
"Last night, Russia once again waged war against critical infrastructure and ordinary residential buildings. A total of 420 unmanned aerial vehicles were launched at our people, most of which were 'Shahed', along with 39 missiles of various types, including 11 ballistic missiles. There are destructions in eight regions - many private and multi-apartment buildings have been damaged. We currently know of several dozen injured as a result of this attack, including children," Zelensky wrote on the Telegram platform.
He noted that gas infrastructure in the Poltava region and electrical substations in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions were damaged. Rescuers were working in the Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Kyiv regions and in the capital.
"Most of the missiles fired today were shot down thanks to our partners who promptly sent some missiles for air defense systems, which were agreed upon at the last meeting in the 'Ramstein' format. However, unfortunately, there were also hits. This means we need to work even more actively. The cold has not completely retreated, and air defense missiles are needed daily while Russia tries to destroy our energy system. Thank you to everyone who understands this and helps," Zelensky added.
