US Ambassador to Paris Charles Kushner did not respond to the summons from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prompting Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot to take measures against the diplomat, a diplomatic source in Paris told a correspondent of 'European Truth'.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot summoned US Ambassador Charles Kushner, who is also the son-in-law of President Donald Trump, regarding comments about the murder of French far-right activist Quentin Duranque.
"In light of the comments published by the US Embassy regarding the tragedy that occurred in France and pertains solely to our national public debates – the instrumentalization of which we do not allow – Ambassador Charles Kushner was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. He did not appear," a diplomatic source reported.
Due to the ambassador's absence, Barrot decided on "sanctions" against the US diplomat.
"Given this obvious misunderstanding of the basic expectations from the mission of an ambassador who has the honor of representing his country, the minister ordered to revoke his direct access to members of the French government," the Foreign Ministry stated.
