Orban stated that Hungary's energy supply will not be a hostage to Kyiv's ambitions.
Kyiv will not be able to impose its demands when it comes to the supply of Russian energy resources to Hungary. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the social network X.
"Hungary's energy supply will not be taken hostage," the politician emphasized.
According to him, Kyiv intends to ensure the supply of Russian energy to the European Union country only on its own terms. Orban believes that this mechanism indicates political blackmail and a violation of agreements between the EU and Ukraine, which prohibit actions that threaten the energy security of the member states of the union.
Earlier, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto stated that Budapest would block Kyiv's multibillion-euro EU loan until it allows oil from the Russian Federation to pass through.
