The French Armed Forces have equipped themselves with MX-10 Damocles quadcopters. The supply of kamikaze drones indicates the formation of army requests based on lessons learned from recent conflicts, writes Army Recognition.
The drone was developed by KNDS France in collaboration with Delair. The military received the first units in December of last year. The MX-10 drone is an evolution of the concept chosen in 2022 as part of the Colibri project. By July 2026, the French Armed Forces will receive 460 drones.
The MX-10 is based on the Delair quadcopter. Weighing 3.5 kilograms, it has a range of 10 kilometers, and the maximum flight duration is 40 minutes. The drone is equipped with an electro-optical module with day and night cameras. The manufacturer claims that the data transmission channel is resistant to interference. The Damocles carries a fragmentation and high-explosive warhead weighing 550 grams.
