Former Danish Foreign Minister Kofod: Europe needs to play the power game against Trump.
European countries need to act from a position of strength in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's claims on Greenland. This was stated by former Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, as reported by ABC News.
"Trump is using all the tools at his disposal. Europe needs to learn to play the power game and narrow his options if we want to stop this," the politician said.
According to Kofod, the rhetoric of the American leader could noticeably soften if he sees that all of Europe, including the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, stands against him.
Earlier, the newspaper Politico, citing a European diplomat, reported that the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump are generating a kind of fear in the European Union. It was noted that the crisis surrounding Greenland has created a new reality, as it has become clear that even allies are not immune to Trump's "machinations."
