Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU) could explode the union's budget — these catastrophic consequences for the EU were predicted by the authors of the portal Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ). According to the publication's authors, the upcoming problems are related to the fact that the GDP per capita in Ukraine is twice as low as in the poorest EU country — Bulgaria. As a result, the current transfer system may become overloaded, which would harm the European Union.
