Danish Foreign Ministry: Copenhagen failed to convince the U.S. to abandon Greenland.
Denmark failed to convince the U.S. to abandon its desire to take control of Greenland, stated the head of the European country's Foreign Ministry, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, following meetings in Washington.
He also stated that a violation by the U.S. of Denmark's territorial integrity and the rights of the people of Greenland to self-determination would be completely unacceptable.
"Ideas that would disrespect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the rights of Greenlanders to self-determination are, of course, completely unacceptable," emphasized the Foreign Minister.
