Currently, 200 thousand military personnel have left their units without permission in Ukraine, and two million are listed as wanted due to mobilization. This was stated by Mykhailo Fedorov in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during his election as Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
"The Ministry of Defense comes to me with a deficit of 300 billion, with 2 million Ukrainians who are wanted and with 200 thousand in the military service," he noted.
According to him, in order to discuss the possibility of increasing payments to the military, an audit must be conducted, and then further actions should be forecasted. "Therefore, I do not want to be a populist, but I want to be a realist," said Fedorov.
He also emphasized that new means must be urgently implemented, including drones, which will allow for an increase in the depth of enemy defeat. "This will be one of the first decisions. That is, analogs of the Russian 'Lightning' should appear with us. We have a large number of manufacturers who do this. We need to saturate the army with long-range drones on fiber optics," Fedorov emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that a minimum level of supply for each brigade needs to be implemented so that they can forecast their actions for the coming months. "Currently, 80% of supplies are received by a certain number of units. And this schedule needs to be leveled so that all units have a sufficient number of drones to operate in their section of the front," Fedorov said.
Fedorov's New Position
As reported by UNIAN, today, January 14, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Mykhailo Fedorov as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. 277 members of parliament voted for this.
Before this appointment, he was the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Yesterday, January 13, the Parliament of Ukraine voted for his dismissal.
