The United States urged its citizens to "immediately" leave Iran amid protests in the country and potential strikes from Washington. This message was published on the website of the U.S. virtual embassy in Tehran.
“U.S. citizens should expect continued internet disruptions, plan alternative means of communication, and, if it is safe, consider leaving Iran overland to Armenia or Turkey. <…> Develop a plan to exit Iran that does not rely on U.S. government assistance,” the statement said.
If U.S. citizens cannot leave Iran, they should find a safe place in their homes, avoid demonstrations, and stock up on food, water, medicine, and other necessities, the statement said.
