Iran supplied Russia with ballistic and surface-to-air missiles worth $2.7 billion, while the total volume of military assistance from Tehran to Moscow since 2021 has exceeded four billion dollars, reports Bloomberg, citing an unnamed Western official, as stated by LETA, referencing UKRAINSKA PRAVDA.
The source indicated that cooperation between Moscow and Tehran began even before Russia's renewed invasion of Ukraine, with the first contracts for missile supplies signed in October 2021.
For $2.7 billion, Iran supplied Russia with several hundred short-range ballistic missiles Fath-360, nearly 500 short-range ballistic missiles of other types, about 200 surface-to-air missiles, as well as millions of artillery shells and ammunition for small arms.
In turn, the contract worth $1.75 billion, signed in early 2023, provides for the supply of Shahed-136 strike drones and the transfer of production technologies to Russia.
The official added that these are not final figures, as new supplies of Iranian weapons to Russia are expected.
