The representatives of the United States are directly interested in the unrest in Iran, stated the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to Khamenei, "a bunch of inexperienced and shortsighted people" is acting in favor of Donald Trump and believes in him. They are setting trash bins on fire in Iran to please the President of the United States, emphasized the Supreme Leader of the Republic.
He also accused Trump of having his hands "stained with the blood" of more than a thousand citizens of the Islamic Republic. This number of people died in June 2025 as a result of Iran's war with Israel in early summer 2025, Khamenei reminded.
The fact that the American president was giving orders during the clash contradicts his numerous statements of support for the Iranians, concluded the Supreme Leader of Iran.
Earlier, Khamenei urged Trump to focus his attention on managing the States. This would be more appropriate than meddling in the internal affairs of another country, he harshly summarized. To please the U.S. president, the protesters have already destroyed a municipal building, noted the Iranian leader. This likely refers to the arson of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) building, which became known on the night of January 8 to 9. The protesters also set public transport on fire.
