U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Wednesday for the United States' withdrawal from 66 international organizations, as they "no longer serve the interests of Americans," the White House administration reported, according to LETA citing AFP.

The U.S. will withdraw from 31 organizations within the UN system and 35 organizations outside of it, according to a statement from the White House on the platform X, without specifying the names of these entities.

Previously, during his second presidential term, Trump had already achieved the withdrawal of the U.S. from several international organizations.

In the memorandum signed on Wednesday, all 66 international organizations are described as "contrary to the interests of the United States."

The most significant among them is the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), adopted in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro and serving as the foundation for all key international agreements in the fight against climate change.

Trump, who supports the use of fossil fuels in his domestic policy, openly questions the impact of human activity on global warming and referred to climate science as a "joke" at the UN high-level summit in September.

Since returning to the presidency, he has already ensured the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate. He also did this during his first term, but later President Joe Biden reversed that decision.

The memorandum states that the U.S. will withdraw from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and other climate-related organizations, including the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), "UN Oceans," and "UN Water."

Among the organizations mentioned in the document is also the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), whose goal is to address demographic issues worldwide with a particular focus on reproductive health and improving quality of life in the context of sustainable development, as well as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
