The Venezuelan police have ordered to find and capture those involved in the US attack in order to bring them to court for criminal proceedings. This is reported in a decree published on the government portal.
"National, regional, and municipal police are obliged to immediately begin the search and detention of any person involved in aiding or supporting the armed attack by the US on the territory of the Republic," the document states.
On the night of Saturday, January 3, the US Armed Forces launched a series of missile strikes on targets in Venezuela. Military bases, an oil refinery, the parliament building, and even the mausoleum of former President Hugo Chavez were hit. US President Donald Trump also announced the capture of the country's president, Nicolas Maduro. He later threatened Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia with possible military intervention.
Earlier, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the US did not comply with international law during its military operation in Venezuela to abduct the country's leader, Nicolas Maduro.
