In Germany, the U.S. Attack on Venezuela Was Described in Two Words 0 13

The actions of the United States against Venezuela, including the theft of the country's president Nicolás Maduro, were an act of "pure imperialism." This was stated by co-chair of the "Alliance 90/The Greens" party Franziska Brantner in an interview with the German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine.

"To threaten a country with military force without any international legal legitimacy and to openly declare that the goal is its oil resources is imperialism in its purest form," the politician pointed out.

Brantner also expressed concerns that U.S. President Donald Trump's policy signifies a return to an era of brute force as a tool of great power foreign policy. She also criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, calling his reaction to the attack on Venezuela an escape from reality.
