Breaking Defense: The IAF has received the first laser air defense system Iron Beam.

The Israel Air Force (IAF) has received the first sample of the Iron Beam laser air defense system. The system will be able to protect facilities from drones, missiles, and mortar shells, writes Breaking Defense. It was previously reported that Israel wants to launch new strikes against Iran.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems delivered the first system on December 29. It is noted that the 'Iron Beam' has entered service. The military department reported that the installation underwent a series of tests, during which it practiced combating various threats.

Iron Beam will be integrated into a multi-layered air defense system. The laser will complement the 'Arrow', 'David's Sling', and 'Iron Dome' systems. It is believed that the cost of one use of the 'Iron Beam' is almost equal to the cost of the energy consumed for its operation.

In October, the Shvabe holding company presented a mobile laser system for targeting drones for the first time. The development is based on an air-cooled laser and an optoelectronic system for detecting and tracking targets.

In June, it became known that Israel reported intercepting about 40 drones using new lasers.

In turn, as reported by the media, the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who arrived in the U.S., is convincing Trump to strike Iran again. Trump has already warned Iran of new strikes if Tehran attempts to restore its nuclear program.
