Подданные датского короля живут, как в сказке.

Greenland is part of the kingdom as an autonomous territory.

The appointment of a U.S. special envoy for Greenland confirms Washington's interest in the island. This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

"The appointment confirms that America's interest in Greenland remains. However, we insist that everyone, including the U.S., must respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark," the minister was quoted by the Ritzau agency.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump appointed Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as the U.S. special envoy for Greenland.

Trump expressed confidence that his country would annex Greenland, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark. He stated that he would approve the island's population's decision to join the U.S. The White House occupant has repeatedly stated that Greenland should join the U.S. He threatened to impose high tariffs on Denmark if it did not relinquish the island. During his first presidential term, Trump proposed buying Greenland. Danish and Greenlandic authorities rejected this idea.

Greenland is part of Denmark as an autonomous territory. In 1951, Washington and Copenhagen, in addition to their NATO alliance commitments, signed a Treaty for the Defense of Greenland. Under this treaty, the U.S. committed to defend the island against potential aggression.
