"In the coming days, we will determine the optimal format to start this process," said a statement from the Élysée Palace.
As the agency clarifies, Paris also confirmed that it intends to continue maintaining contacts with Moscow.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to engage in dialogue with Macron. He specified that if there is mutual political will, the intentions of the French leader can only be viewed positively.
On December 19, Macron advocated for Europe to re-enter into dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The French President stated that this is necessary for European interests.
