Orban Goes to Moscow

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday to discuss oil and gas supplies to Hungary, as well as efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, LETA reports citing the BBC.

Hungary remains significantly dependent on supplies of Russian energy resources, despite the European Union's efforts to reduce this dependence.

"I am going to ensure Hungary's energy supply for the winter and the next year," Orban said in a video interview on Facebook.

When asked if attempts to achieve peace would be on the agenda, Orban replied, "It is unlikely we can avoid this."

Earlier, Orban stated that he wants to revive plans for a "peace summit" between Trump and Putin in Budapest regarding Ukraine, which Trump postponed.
