After the signing of a peace agreement — not during the war — the placement of "security guarantee forces" is planned away from the front line, in cities such as Kyiv or Odessa, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to him in an interview with RTL, they will include British, French, and Turkish military personnel, whose task will be to train Ukrainian forces and ensure security — similar to how NATO countries are already assisting states on the eastern flank of the Alliance.

He emphasized that this will be done within the framework of an intergovernmental coalition, not NATO, and that about twenty countries are ready to contribute — on land, at sea, or in the air. Additionally, Macron stressed that "there can be no sustainable peace if the Ukrainian army is limited in its ability to defend itself and deter any aggression."

Earlier, media reported that Russia's demand for Ukraine not to join NATO is unacceptable. This opinion was expressed by Czech President Petr Pavel. He warned against a repeat of the Munich Agreement with Ukraine, when Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy agreed among themselves that Czechoslovakia should cede the Sudetenland to Hitler.

Moreover, the media also reported that NATO's Secretary General commented on the negotiations in Geneva. He emphasized that this meeting was very successful.
