Poland's Minister of National Defense: Ukraine must clarify the corruption scandal to EU countries.
President Volodymyr Zelensky must clarify to the countries of the European Union (EU) the situation related to the corruption scandal in Ukraine's energy sector, otherwise the path to integration will be closed to it. This call was made by Poland's Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, during a broadcast, as reported by Wiadomości.
"Immediate clarification from Ukraine on this issue is expected — clear questions need to be raised, and an ultimatum should be presented to the Ukrainian state and government," the politician said.
At the same time, the Polish minister emphasized that a corrupt country cannot become a member of the European Union.
Earlier, it was reported in Kyiv about President Volodymyr Zelensky's personal involvement in a corruption scheme. According to a former Ukrainian official, Zelensky personally approved the embezzlement of $100 million from the country's energy sector.
On November 11, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced suspicion in a corruption case in the energy sector against President Zelensky's associate, Tymur Mindich. The businessman is referred to in the media as Zelensky's "wallet."
