MiG-31 Pilot: The agent who recruited him for the aircraft hijacking was revealed by his speech.
A Russian pilot named the main mistake of the person who recruited him to hijack the Soviet MiG-31 fighter jet armed with the hypersonic missile "Dagger." This is stated in a video published on YouTube.
In the released footage, the pilot says he received a message from a man who introduced himself as a journalist from Bellingcat. He presented a photo of a press card. During the conversation, the pilot heard the characteristic pronunciation of the letter "G" from his interlocutor, which revealed his Ukrainian origin.
Earlier, the FSB of Russia announced the prevention of a provocation allegedly developed by Ukrainian intelligence with the help of the United Kingdom. Foreign intelligence services supposedly attempted to recruit Russian pilots for hijacking the MiG-31 as early as the fall of 2024, the Russians claim.
When the aircraft commander refused to cooperate, the intelligence services targeted the navigator. Kyiv allegedly planned to direct the aircraft to the location of the largest NATO airbase in Southeast Europe in Romania, where, according to the Russians, it could be shot down by air defense systems.
