During the conversation, the pilot heard the characteristic pronunciation of the letter "G" from his interlocutor, which revealed his Ukrainian origin.
Earlier, the FSB of Russia announced the prevention of a provocation allegedly developed by Ukrainian intelligence with the help of the United Kingdom. Foreign intelligence services supposedly attempted to recruit Russian pilots for hijacking the MiG-31 as early as the fall of 2024, the Russians claim.
When the aircraft commander refused to cooperate, the intelligence services targeted the navigator.
