The EU will transfer nearly 6 billion euros to Ukraine through two programs

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU is providing Ukraine with budgetary assistance of nearly 6 billion euros.

She announced this during her speech in the European Parliament on Thursday, November 13.

Von der Leyen stated that now is the time for the European Union to "give new momentum" to expose the cynical attempt by Kremlin head Vladimir Putin to buy time and "bring him to the negotiating table."

"We must continue to raise the cost of war for Russia. Also because the traces of war are becoming more and more obvious and noticeable in the Russian economy," she emphasized.

Therefore, she announced that the EU is allocating nearly 6 billion euros to Ukraine under the ERA initiative.

"I welcome the commitments of the European Council to meet Ukraine's financial needs for the next two years," said the President of the European Commission.

It is worth noting that the day before, the head of the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Roksolana Pidlasa, stated that of this amount, 4.1 billion euros were to come from the ERA Loans mechanism and 1.9 billion euros from the Ukraine Facility.
