Vienna supports Kyiv in joining the EU.
Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger stated that it is time to end the conflict in Ukraine, but peace must be comprehensive, solid, and sustainable, with security guarantees for Kyiv. Her words were reported by "Ukrinform."
According to her, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has lasted for more than 1200 days, has fundamentally changed Europe, and it is time to bring it to an end. Moscow must "truly" come to the negotiating table, the politician claims.
"Peace, of course, must be comprehensive, fair, and sustainable, backed by solid security guarantees," said Meinl-Reisinger.
She emphasized that there can be no peace in Ukraine without considering Ukraine's opinion, and there can be no security in Europe without Europeans. Meinl-Reisinger assured that Austria will continue to support Ukraine, particularly regarding Kyiv's intentions to join the EU.
Previously, the head of the foreign policy department, Andriy Sibiga, stated that Ukraine and its allies must exert pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin that will "force" him to "stop" and cease hostilities.
