Russia launched over 450 drones and 45 missiles of various types at Ukraine overnight, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to LETA citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"Russia launched over 450 unmanned aerial vehicles and 45 various missiles at Ukraine. The targets of the terrorists remain the same: everyday life, residential buildings, our energy sector, infrastructure," he wrote on Saturday on Telegram.
A rescue operation continues in Dnipro following the Russian strike on a residential building.
The city's mayor, Boris Filatov, reported that three people were killed as a result of the drone strike, and one is still listed as missing. More than ten people were injured.
Zelensky emphasized the need to tighten sanctions against Russia to deprive it of the ability to continue the war it has started.
"We appreciate all the measures already taken by our partners, however, the Russian strikes show that the pressure must be stronger. A decision from Europe on Russia's frozen assets, additional sanctions, support, and strengthening of Ukraine's defense is necessary," he stated.
"And for every strike by Moscow on energy, through which they seek to harm ordinary people before winter, there should be a sanctioning punishment for the entire Russian energy sector without exceptions. So far, Russian nuclear energy has not been sanctioned, so far the Russian military-industrial complex is receiving Western microelectronics, there must be more pressure on oil and gas trade. We hope that the USA, Europe, and G7 countries will make the appropriate decisions. Thank you to everyone who is ready to help and act to protect lives," Zelensky emphasized.
