Welt: NATO has presented a defense concept for the alliance's eastern borders against Russia.
NATO's land forces commander General Christopher Donahue presented to the alliance countries a defense concept for the eastern borders called the "Eastern Flank Deterrence Concept." This was reported by Welt.
"The Supreme Allied Commander of NATO's land forces, Christopher Donahue, presented a comprehensive defense concept to military representatives from 32 NATO countries in Brussels," the report states.
According to the publication, the general's plan spans over 4,400 pages. The new strategy aims to improve the interaction of armed forces for data sharing, as well as to integrate unmanned and autonomous systems into the defense structure of NATO's eastern front.
Earlier, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that Russia may already be preparing for a potential conflict with NATO and could begin to pose a real threat to the alliance before 2036. "Russia has already entered 'phase zero' — the phase of informational and psychological preparation for its campaign to prepare for a possible war between NATO and Russia in the future," the material said.
