On October 17, two drones of unknown origin were flying near the Defense Forces military town of Reedo in southern Estonia, one of which was shot down by allies, reports Postimees.
"On October 17 at 16:30, allies detected drones flying in close proximity to the military town of the 2nd Infantry Brigade. One of them was shot down with a counter-drone gun," said Liis Vaksmann, spokesperson for the Defense Forces Headquarters, to Postimees.
According to Vaksmann, the Defense Forces, together with the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA), attempted to locate the downed drone, but the device could not be found in the area of its presumed landing.
"The Defense Forces do not comment on security-related incidents in detail," she noted.
The 5th Squadron of the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States (5-7 CAV) is stationed in the Reedo military town – an armored reconnaissance squadron.
