Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Saturday that since the beginning of the year, Russia has launched about 770 ballistic missiles and more than 50 Kinzhal missiles at Ukraine, LETA reports citing UNN.
"Last night, Russia attacked Ukraine again — this time with dozens of drones and nine ballistic missiles. The missile strike was aimed at Kyiv," Zelensky wrote on social media.
The president noted: "It is known that, unfortunately, there are casualties. I express my condolences to the families and loved ones. Dozens of people were injured."
"Almost every attack on our people is a combined ballistic strike. Since the beginning of this year, Russia has launched about 770 ballistic missiles and more than 50 Kinzhal missiles at Ukraine alone," Zelensky stated.
According to him, "it is precisely because of such attacks that we attach particular importance to the Patriot systems, in order to be able to protect our cities from this horror. It is very important that partners with such capabilities understand what we have been talking about in recent days. No country should be left alone with such evil. Cooperation must continue. Everything can be done: our partners have the necessary systems, and they can already help in the defense of Ukraine," the president emphasized.
"America, Europe, G7 countries can help so that such strikes no longer threaten lives. There must be a response from strong states to Russia's ballistic missiles — through real cooperation aimed at protecting lives," Zelensky noted.
On Saturday night, as a result of Russian missile strikes in Kyiv, two people were killed, another 12 were injured, and in the Dnipropetrovsk region, two people were killed and seven others were injured.
