Russians will not compete at the European Short Course Championships in Poland.

Dmitry Mazepin, President of the Russian Swimming Federation, stated that Russians will not be able to compete at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Poland. He is quoted by several Western media outlets.

Mazepin believes that the reason for missing the tournament is political. He pointed out that Polish authorities did not allow Russian swimmers to participate.

The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has softened the criteria for Russian athletes' participation in competitions. Russian athletes can compete in international tournaments in synchronized swimming, as well as in team events in swimming and diving.
