Thieves broke into the Louvre in Paris and stole nine items from Napoleon's collection.

In France, unknown individuals broke into the Louvre and stole nine items from Emperor Napoleon's collection. This was reported by Le Parisien.

Three criminals entered the building of the famous museum, which is currently undergoing renovation. They used a freight elevator to access the Apollo Gallery, broke a window, and climbed inside. The thieves made off with nine precious pieces of jewelry, including a necklace, a brooch, a tiara, and several other items. Only two of the thieves operated inside the hall, while the third remained outside.

France's Minister of Culture Rachida Dati reported that there were no injuries as a result of the incident. An investigation is underway. The museum is closed to visitors.
