Armenia may apply for EU membership in a month.

Armenia may apply for membership in the European Union (EU) as early as "next month." This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with the German publication Deutsche Welle.

"I can't say exactly when we will submit the application. It could be next month, or it could be next year," he said.

According to the Armenian Foreign Minister, the timing of the application depends on various factors, but the Armenian authorities are eager to deepen their interaction with the European Union. Even now, Yerevan and Brussels are working on several new documents and have already completed the preparation of a new partnership program, which is expected to be signed by the end of the year.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan suggested that the European Union might not accept the country into the community. Nevertheless, for Yerevan, compliance with EU standards remains a priority.
