US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that the British minister is "delusional" after she claimed that the UK was involved in diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza. The ambassador wrote this on social media X.
Earlier on Sunday, UK Education Minister Bridget Phillipson said on Sky News that the British government "played a key role behind the scenes in shaping" the peace agreement.
However, American diplomat Mike Huckabee sharply commented on Phillipson's video interview. "I assure you, she’s delusional. She can thank Donald Trump – just to set the record straight," Huckabee wrote.
The British minister, among other things, stated that Keir Starmer's presence in Egypt at the signing ceremony of the Gaza agreement on Monday "demonstrates the key role we played."
She did not specify what exactly the UK's role was in the ceasefire, which is largely attributed to Donald Trump.
