FT: Netanyahu wanted to make changes to Trump's plan for Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to pressure U.S. President Donald Trump to make changes to his plan for resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Financial Times (FT).
It is claimed that Netanyahu seeks to achieve changes from Trump that would favor Israel. This concerns representatives from Egypt and Qatar, who act as mediators between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian movement Hamas.
"The message from Arab countries is that Hamas will never accept the terms of the deal as they stand after changes from Netanyahu," said an anonymous diplomat. According to him, Israel wants to alter the timelines and locations for troop withdrawals and make adjustments to the role of the Palestinian National Authority in governing Gaza.
