The Baltic States and Poland Discussed Cooperation in Mine Production

Representatives of the ministries of defense and armed forces of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Poland discussed potential cooperation in mine production, reported the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Latvia.

On Thursday and Friday, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces of Latvia met with their Lithuanian, Estonian, and Polish allies in the eastern region of Latvia to share experiences and discuss opportunities for jointly strengthening the Baltic defense line.

The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the 3rd Latgale Brigade of the Land Forces of Latvia, was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the Ministry of Defense of Latvia, Major General Andis Dilans, the commander of the 3rd Latgale Brigade of the Land Forces, Colonel Gunars Vizulis, Asko Kivinyuk from the Ministry of Defense of Estonia, Lieutenant Colonel Virginius Kleponis from the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania, and Colonel Grzegorz Borisevich from the Ministry of Defense of Poland.

The representatives of the allied countries discussed the latest data, experiences, and future plans for strengthening the Baltic defense line. An important topic was the potential cooperation in mine production and the supply of other weapons. The allies also discussed opportunities for collaboration in joint procurement.

The delegations then toured the Baltic defense line on the eastern border of Latvia.
