NI: US and Finland special forces at Southern Griffin exercises prepared for war with the Russian Federation.
Special forces units from the US and Finland conducted exercises to prepare for a potential war with Russia. This was reported by The National Interest (NI).
"In recent weeks, more than 1,600 military personnel from nine NATO member countries have gathered to hone their combat skills in the Arctic north, just a few miles from the Russian border," writes observer William Lawson.
According to him, American military personnel participated in the Southern Griffin 25 event, specifically the 352nd Special Operations Wing based in the UK, which operates, among other things, the MC-130J Commando II military transport aircraft and the CV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. On the Finnish side, F/A-18 fighter jets supported the exercises.
The author emphasizes that the peacetime strength of the Finnish Armed Forces is 30,000 personnel, while in wartime this figure can increase tenfold.
