WP: the statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands has been returned to Capitol Hill.
A sculpture depicting U.S. President Donald Trump and the late financier Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has been returned to Capitol Hill in Washington. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP).
The statue was installed in September, but later the National Park Service removed it for not complying with the issued permit. It is noted that the monument titled "Best Friends Forever" was created by an anonymous group of artists criticizing the current U.S. administration. The work is the latest in a series of politically motivated sculptures.
As the publication notes, the friendship between Trump and Epstein lasted until 2004. In 2019, when accusations were made against the financier, Trump stated that he had not communicated with him for over 15 years. Details of the billionaires' long-standing friendship were previously revealed by the American newspaper The New York Times.
In September, activists from the Everyone Hates Elon movement hung a photo of Trump with Epstein in Windsor ahead of the American leader's meeting with British King Charles III.
