A study published in ScienceDirect stated that curcumin reduces inflammation and protects cells from damage, which can play a key role in combating stress and regulating mood.

Curcumin is best known as a natural remedy for easing inflammation, and this is supported by research published in Psychiatry Online. However, according to dietitian Karman Meyer, depression and inflammation often go hand in hand.

"Inflammation can have negative consequences for mental health, and depression fuels the inflammatory response in the body," she explained.

As noted, curcumin has shown promising results in combating inflammation and depression, and turmeric has even been named the number one spice for reducing inflammation.

"Inflammation and oxidative stress can worsen mood and increase the risk of developing depression or anxiety. "No single product or compound can eliminate stress or change your health. It is important to combat stress in multiple ways to notice real improvement," says Galati and advises following several rules.

Stay active. Physical exercise is a natural remedy for reducing stress. Walking, yoga, dancing are great ways to release endorphins and improve mental well-being. Meditate, breathe properly. Daily meditation or deep breathing exercises can calm your mind and improve your response to stress.

Get enough sleep. A consistent sleep schedule helps regulate mood and energy levels. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep each night.

Eat a balanced diet. A variety of foods will provide the body with plenty of nutrients for physical and mental energy. For optimal well-being, prioritize fruits, vegetables, protein, healthy fats, and fiber.

Turmeric adds depth of flavor and vibrant color to dishes. It can be used in a milk latte along with cinnamon and ginger, sprinkled on vegetables before roasting, added to smoothies made with frozen fruits, yogurt, and spinach, or sprinkled on avocado toast.
