Dinner in 15 Minutes: Three Recipes for When You Can't Even Think About Cooking

There are days when fatigue accumulates to the point that even ordering delivery and then waiting seems unbearable. In such moments, the simplest recipes come to the rescue: without complicated ingredients and standing at the stove.

Such dinners do not look like a "lazy option" if everything is done neatly. This is normal food that comes together in just a few minutes and fulfills the basic need – to eat calmly and without extra effort.

Creamy Skillet Pasta

One of the fastest and most reliable options. The ingredients are usually already at home, and cooking takes exactly as long as it takes to boil the pasta.

What you will need: pasta (spaghetti or any short type), a bit of cream cheese or cream, a clove of garlic, salt, pepper, and a little oil. If available, you can add pieces of chicken, ham, or any cooked protein, and top it with some grated cheese. The pasta is put on to boil – this is the only step that takes time. Meanwhile, garlic is quickly heated in oil in a skillet for literally half a minute to release its aroma. Then, cream cheese or cream is added, and the sauce is warmed up, seasoned with salt and pepper. The cooked pasta is transferred directly into the skillet. If the sauce seems thick, you can add a little pasta cooking water – it softens the texture, advises RidLife. Everything is mixed, and in a minute, a finished dish is ready.

Couscous with Vegetables and Yogurt Sauce

One of the quickest dinner options that is often underestimated. Couscous does not need to be boiled – just pour boiling water over it. The grains are covered with hot water and left covered for 5 minutes. During this time, you can chop any vegetables: cucumber, tomato, bell pepper. Anything you have will do. The finished couscous is fluffed with a fork, mixed with the vegetables, and a little olive oil, salt, and pepper are added. On top – a spoonful of yogurt or a sauce based on it. This results in a light yet filling dish that comes together in just a few minutes and does not require cooking in the traditional sense.

Quick Noodles with Peanut Sauce

It looks like something complicated, but in fact, it comes together in 10 minutes. Any noodles (wheat, rice) are boiled. While they are cooking, the sauce is made: peanut butter, a little soy sauce, warm water, and optionally – a bit of honey or hot sauce. Everything is mixed until creamy. The cooked noodles are combined with the sauce right in the pot or skillet. If there’s time, you can add vegetables or cooked protein. But even in the basic version, this is a complete dish with a rich flavor.
