Cottage cheese Easter also carries the main idea of the holiday – the Resurrection of Jesus. The original shape of the Easter is a truncated pyramid, symbolizing the Lord's Tomb, where the greatest miracle of Resurrection took place.

  • Ingredients: 0.5 kg of fatty cottage cheese, 5 eggs, ½ cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar, 150 g of butter, 1 cup of a mixture of dried fruits and nuts. For decoration – multicolored candied fruits, marmalade.

  • Preparation: The butter should be taken out of the refrigerator in advance (2-3 hours beforehand) to become soft. Mash the butter with the cottage cheese using a fork. Boil the eggs hard, cool them, and separate the yolks. In a blender, combine the butter with the cottage cheese and yolks, and blend until smooth. Add the dried fruits and nuts, and mix thoroughly.

If there is no special Easter mold, take a colander, line it with cheesecloth folded in 2-3 layers, and place the cottage cheese mixture inside. Cover the Easter with the free edges of the cheesecloth, place a plate on top, and add a weight (for example, a three-liter jar filled with water) and put it in a cool place for 6–12 hours.

  • Note: The boiled egg white is not used in this recipe. It can be stuffed with any salad or pâté and served as an appetizer.
